Follow the wires back from the tail light sockets to a plugin. Just disconnect and check for power there. Sometimes just re-plugging the plugin back together solves the problem.

On my blazer I have had to splice in sockets for some on the front, they seemed to just burn up or turn black and fall apart. Its a good Idea to use dielectric bulb grease in sockets but may not stop the Plastic socket from Deteriorating.
