1998 S10 Won't Crank

Asked by Calie_cal Feb 21, 2017 at 12:22 AM about the 1998 Chevrolet S-10 LS Extended Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need some help. While driving my 1998
s10 v6 4.3l it completely died without a
sound engine just stopped. Went to try to
crank it back up it won't start. When you
try to turn the key over to aux it does a
very rapid clicking sound and the dash
lights act like they are having a sezuire. I
don't even have to turn the key all the way
over it tries to do something but all it
manages is rapid clicking in aux position. I
have fully charged my battery and checked
my cables. I see no problems. Help this is
my only vechile.

Maybe the starter is bad or you have bad battery connections somewhere. I would also have the battery tested.

Try the ground wire in the top right under the hood, it's a black wire if it's not connected CONNECT IT! It makes the starter work!

I put some aluminum foil on a fuse and now my truck won't even turn over the lights come on only.
