HELLO IT WAS RAINING AND THE ROAD WAS WET A DEER RAN IN FRONT OF ME AND I HIT THE BRAKE PRETTY HARD NOW THE BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON ALSO IT IS A 1997  SS MODEL

check the brakelight switch on the back side of the pedal, may have pushed or bent it out

yeah definitely seems like the brake light switch . very cheap part at any part store and simple to replace
