I have a 1997 s10.why does the blower motor stay on after the truck has been turned off ?

The blower relay could be stuck closed. Try removing the relay and swapping it with a like relay in the fuse/relay panel under the hood and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, order a new relay. They're relatively inexpensive.
