1996 s-10 starting issues

Asked by Msjohns2 Oct 25, 2015 at 09:21 PM about the 1996 Chevrolet S-10 LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1996 s-10 . The truck starts great when its cold but when I drive it
and it gets warm, it doesn't want to start right up. It turns over several times
and I usually have to pump the gas 1-2 times before it will start. Any thoughts
on what this could be? I think I need a new catalytic converter, not sure if this
is the issue. Any help would be great

A bad cat wouldn't stop the engine from firing up. You could have a bad ECT sensor or a bad ICM.

Does your oil smell like gas? Sounds like leaky fuel pressure regulator
