Positive and a Negative sens for the Bulb socket

My bulbs burn out almost every two weeks, no matter what I do. so I want to
know if polarization is matter.

I would have the alternator output tested, if it is too high (over 14V) it can cause premature bulb burnout. Alternators can put out excessive voltage for a few reasons, including a bad battery or defective voltage regulator.
