what type of fluid is used for clutch reservoir in 2001 honda crv

the fluid in my reservoir for the clutch appears to look like dirty oil. My car won't shift into
gear either. I was going to add fluid and am not sure what type of fluid to add? Is it brake
fluid or motor oil?

Its brake fluid. Add fluid and pump the clutch pedal several times. Start the car and see what happens at that point, if you still cannot put it into gear you may have bigger issues then the fluid.
