What repairs, and at what cost, should I anticipate when I retrieve a 2006 Taurus SEL from having sat, undriven, since June 2014?

Asked by Taradactyl Jul 28, 2017 at 07:14 AM about the 2006 Ford Taurus SEL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car first rolled off the lot on June 22, 2005, and it was in excellent condition when it was impounded on June 4, 2014. It has roughly 160,000 miles on it. I have been told that I should just junk it and get a later-model car, but after visiting this site and looking at the amazing reviews that older Tauruses have been getting, I am reconsidering that. Any advice? Thanks!

>>Why was it impounded and sat for so long if it was so amazing? Might have been problems with it before.<< It was impounded for legal reasons and sat for financial reasons. It was in excellent condition. There were no problems with it. Thank you for your advice, Tom.
