Heat blows out when I have the selector on the defrost/floor but not when I have it set to floor only. Any suggestions?

Could be a blend door or its actuator. The smaller ones that direct air between the vents are easier to get to than the temperature blend door, but you'll have to look up the location of the blend door that affects the floor vents and then access it to see if it is working. The actuators are cheap, about 30-35 a pop. The Taurus has a lot of dedicated forums with write-ups on how to get to these blend doors and change them out. It can be a challenging DIY project but the cost savings are enormous compared to having a dealer or shop do it. It's ALL labor.
