What caused my fan to cut into my radiator

Likely your water pump has failed, causing the fan to wobble badly hitting your radiator. Engine stopped, grab the fan, wiggle back and forth and side to side. Normal for fan to spin, BUT, Should be tight in every direction you wiggle it.
