1991 F-250 straight 6, two fuel tanks and pumps. Intermittent failure to start, but both pumps active. Search has revealed no cause, and suddenly starts normally. ?? Ideas ?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Fail to start.  Each pump will run when appropriate tank selected.  Occasionally
when trying front tank several times the pump will suddenly stop, then the
engine will start and run normally.  After extensive look by mechanics no cause
found.  Then spontaneously things returned to normal.  Any idea as to
problem, as they are stumped.  Thanks -

tennis shoes - It is in a shop now. They said they have checked everything, with no cause being found, and it started acting normally and starting up normally. I will ask them if they did check ignition. Thanks - razrbackbobby
