5.4 liter 3 valve problems

Asked by Sherman573 Jan 18, 2018 at 09:00 PM about the 2006 Ford F-150 XL 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 f150 5.4 Triton and I had a misfire so I
changed all the plugs and coil packs and it still has
a misfire. I’m wondering if that could be an injector
problem or with the  variable cam timing system
that are in these trucks I haven’t heard very good
things about that

How many miles on it? Does it miss at idle and straighten up when at highway speed? Is the check engine light illuminated? Yes it could be an injector. Ford could put it on their machine for about $100 or so and probably tell you what is wrong with it.

Sounds like a clogged catalytic converter to me. If it's clogged it will give you the misfire codes.
