Trouble shooting engine hesitation

2006 F- 150 idles good , runs smooth, except it seems to hesitate while
accelerating like its loosing power.Changed fuel filter, didn't help no check
engine light.

inspect and clean MAF and IAC along with the throttle body. Check for fuel pressure at the rail. It will be a process of elimination. Make sure all cylinders are firing at idle. Sometimes it is difficult to notice a dead cylinder at idle.

Most common problems are: dirty throttle body, dirty Mass Air Flow sensor, bad throttle positiining sensor, air filter, low fuel pressure or vacuum leak
