I have a 2006 ford f 150 4×4 . hasn't been started in about 4 years what are the steps I need to take to start it

Disconnect the ignition coil and crank it, so it can build up some oil pressure without turning over.. Wouldn't hurt to give it an oil change, and BE SURE to add plenty of oil to the filter so it can build pressure right away. If you want to go all out, pull the spark plugs and add a drop of motor oil to the combustion chamber to prelube the piston rings. Pull the valve covers and prelube the top of the engine as well. The gas should be fine, but if it refuses to start you might have to swap the fuel filter.

Before you turn the engine over, REMOVE THE SPARK PLUGS. put a tbls of Marvel Mystry Oil in each cyl. turn the engine over by hand with the crank pully nut several revs to be sure that you don't break any rings and see how much rust may be in gthe cyl. After you have done that, take a compression test to see how the cyls match. After that the above instructions are pretty good. If it doesn't start, then you need to determine if it is spark or fuel. If fuel, check pump pressure and fuel filter.
