Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had a engine replaced and was told that the computer
a burned out wire is causing the motor to throw a rod in
cylinder '3 passenger side. 1st motor through a rod
second motor through a rod same cylinder

Sounds bogus to me. There is No connection between the ECU and rod bearings.

It's a 2005 Ford f150 4.6. The motor blew. Had a mechanice put another motor in. He told me the second motor ran for 10 min and through a rod in the 3rd cylinder on the left hand side just like the original motor. We have put another motor in he is suggesting I get it put on a machine before and not let it run to long because something is wrong somewhere else and that is what is causing the motor to throw the rod
