Blowing ignition fuse repeatedly

Asked by daskon Feb 21, 2015 at 11:45 PM about the 2005 Ford F-150 FX4 SuperCab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have been told my cam sensors are bad, truck still runs just rough at 45mph and above.  Will bad cam sensors cause the ignition fuse to blow shutting the truck off.

Tennis shoe steers you in the correct direction. Detecting the electrical problem in a vehicle where a fuse is blowing is no different than in a house. The problem comes in where the wiring in a vehicle looks like a spaghetti factory. To save time I suggest. Find a diagram of the electrical circuit for your ignition system, the problem is going to be there. Check the component associated to that particular fuse. Do the easy things first. Check the fuse box, in particular the connections to the ignition fuse. An arc at the prong connection could cause a fuse to blow.
