My 2004 F150 won't Start

Asked by Charles Apr 10, 2017 at 03:58 PM about the 2004 Ford F-150 STX Ext. Cab

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had a drive shaft installed, gas hand wrong now
reads 1/2 tank, I drove 20, truck stopped (should
have been out of gas).  It cranks but don't start.  I
added gas, tried to jump and still no start. AAA
came out said maybe Fuel Pump.  Took it to
Garage, they said and replaced Fuel Pump Driver
Module. It started for few minutes then shut off.
Garage said it was computer.  Replaced computer,
purchased new key with Chip, they said purchased
computer was bad, purchased another computer.
Still unable to fix, they recommended that I take it
to dealer?  Your Urgent Thoughts???

any check engine lights or codes found? I would start with adding fuel injection cleaner to the fuel, maybe clean throttle body, maf, egr and then change fuel filter cheap start and wont hurt

sound like something to do with the delivery of fuel or maybe a vacuum leak??... weak pump, dirty injectors, fuel regulator, hard to say without a code. there is a fat vacuum line on the back of a 5.4 that are known to dry rot and the truck wont run right or run depending on the hose. it goes to the intake, pcv and to something else but its on the back on the intake where the upper and lower intake meet
