My truck doesn't respond at all to my key being in on position

Asked by FARAaron Aug 26, 2013 at 09:57 PM about the 2004 Ford F-150 FX4 Ext. Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Today as I was going down the road the electronics in my truck ie. lights, tach, radio,
windshield wipers stopped functioning. This afternoon I took the battery at it was
charged. When I installed it the lights and electronics came on but the lights inside
blinked. When I turned the key to crank the truck it didn't act as thought I had done
anything. It was suggested that maybe my battery dropped a cell. I bought a new battery
and after installing it I had the same results.

I'e checked the ground at the firewall from the battery, to the motor and I've checked the connections to the startes. What I have found is in the area with the fuses in the cab above the fuses is the wiring harness plugs. Somewhere in that area it is a constant clicking noise when the key is on.

Does anyone know if a 2002 Ford F150 I have a chip in the key that’s only thing I’ve been trying to find out I have called for dealerships and I know why their sales are down because no one there knows how to answer a telephone and specially in the parts department 20 minutes two times is entirely too long to wait for someone to answer a telephone, not answer the question but answer the phone therefore I would really like to know why, or I should say does a 2002 Ford F150 has a chip in the key, and I’ve told my son please next PLEASE time buy a Chevy because the Ford sucks, thank you and I would really like to hear the answer to that question does the dad burn thing have a chip in the key???? Please someone tell me , because they have Turn out the Ford employees how to Answer phones yet, ( that’s is to be taught in 2025)
