I'm interested in buying a 03 f150 xlt 4dr
pickup truck it has a 5.4 liter engine,  what is
the best and newest yr I can put in it? The
motor has 200, xxx miles on it.

You need the exact same engine as what it has now. 2003 was the last year for the Triton version you have. My 2002 has 220,000 and runs like new but I take really good care of it. A new engine installed is not cheap, price it before you buy a project truck.
