How can I use a wire to jump diagnostic plug leads into diagnostic mode to read diagnostic codes.My check engine soon light has come on.Enginge is runnunig rough.Lights dim when I rev engine.

You don't. You start jumping pins and will cause more problems than you already have. Any big chain type AutoParts store will read them for you. FREE Be it OBD or OBDII take it to the AutoZone PepBoys anything like that
