2001 F150 4.6l triton V8

Asked by Cordy Jan 27, 2021 at 10:21 PM about the 2001 Ford F-150 XLT Extended Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck was idling when the engine stopped. It will
not turn over now. I just changed the oil after the truck
has been sitting for about 10 years. It is already
suspected that the oil pump is bad. My question is,
how can I unfreeze the engine? Can it be saved?

How do you know the engine is seized? The engine stopping could be from a fuel problem. Sitting 10 years is really bad for fuel systems.

If the engine has low oil pressure it is probably worn out. You can try replacing the oil pump but it is a gamble.
