Double check wiring of new bulb assembly. Also double check all your fuses.
Your taillights are out also I bet..suggest you check
Good catch Davidh25. It probably did take out the running lights too.
Nothing like a lesson learned. Next time you take a pair of wire cutters to the car, disconnect the battery first. Good chance the circuit is hot all the time. When you cut through the wires you shorted the system.
What do I do next if I shorted the system, the only lights that are out are the dash lights. The interior tail and head lights work
First. Always treat the electrical system in your vehicle the same way you would treat the system in your home. Disconnect the power source before working on it. Where death can be a possibility in the home, short circuit is the problem with vehicles. How many wires were going to the application you cut? If more than two, there is a positility the power jumped from that device to another. Much like the connections on your tail lights which jumps from one side to the other. Check for power at the location of your cut. If you have twelve volts there, your reconnections are probably the issue. If you do not have twelve volts, you probably blew the fuse. Start checking. YOur owner's manual should have a diagram showing which fuse operates what.
