Digital odometer sometimes you can see it other time you cant

Asked by Buster21 Apr 03, 2014 at 12:01 AM about the 1999 Ford F-150 XLT LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While engine is running sometimes the odometer is visible and then the next time it is black. Also the driver front blinker flashes twice as fast as passenger, bulbs are good, if trailer is plugged in it flashes normal. Also the driver door lock sometimes goes half way next time all the way down. Front driver brake sticks cylinders have been changed still same. Maybe all related possibly a short?  Just not sure where to start looking.

ON THE BLINKER YES IT'S A SHORT. WHEN YOU PLUG THE TRAILER IN IT STOPS THE SHORT CHECK THE WIRING HARNESS AND TRACE THE WIRES BACK TO THE FUSE BOX... ALSO MIGHT BE A FUSE. ON BRAKES, THE ROTORS MIGHT NEED TO BE PUT ON SANDER, THEY COULD HAVE GROVES IN THEM CAUSING THE BREAK SHOE TO STICK TO IT... ON THE DOOR LOCK, IF AUTOMATIC COULD BE WITH THE SHORT IN THE DASH PANEL WITH THE CAUSE FROM THE BLINKER... JUST A THOUGHT...
