Cruise control problems

Asked by corviar Jul 01, 2013 at 09:34 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Cruise control does not always work. On the few occasions that it does, disengage works when I touch the brake. But resume does not.

Check the adjustment of the cruise control switch on the brake pedal arm. As the car ages, the brake pedal return spring gets weak and the switch isn't "made".
