My 2002 Chevy Blazer Electrical system failed

Asked by Shante Mar 26, 2014 at 12:26 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer LS 2-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Last week.
I noticed a loud noise in the vehicle also a service light shows as well as the abs again.
The back taillights stopped working
The power windows stopped working
The radio stopped working
The heat sensor would stay at 0 although the vehicle inside heat would work well if not
too much (seemed as if the car heat would kick hot and hard)
A smell of burning plastic when the heat would kick
Now even the heat has stopped working
Aslo the odometer(electrical) no longer works
And absolutely none of the other dashboard light or even the gas needle work.

Today....
The vehicle WILL NOT start at all

It sounds like you have had a catastrophic electrical failure. I would disconnect the positive battery terminal ASAP. Inspect the main lead to the starter, fuse blocks, inspect fuse blocks. If you can smell burning plastic, you have issues for sure. Could be a short in a wiring harness in the dash.
