why ois my ignition not turning when i turn the key?

I have replaced the key switch and switch rod, yet my truck still acts up. when I turn the key the gauges move, but nothing. it only does it once in a while, but nerve wrecking. finally after turning key off and on 2 or 3 times it will start ???????????????/

Have you replaced the ignition switch under dash on column?

have you checked the starter relay or the starter? I'd start there assuming your battery has a good connection and the battery itself is not bad.

My ignition switch will not turn at all, i try rotating stearing wheel, makes no differance
