Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the sending unit on the block, gauge needle didn't move!
How do I check the gauge? Can I ground out the sending unit wire to
see if gauge moves?? Replacing gauge would be a hassle! Any
ideas?

When you shut off the truck does the needle return to it's lowest setting? Or is it stuck maxed out?

If it is the gauge itself, be prepared. You may have to replace the complete instrument cluster.

The needle moves a little bit down, not much, when I turn off ignition! What about an aftermarket gauge I can screw on under the dash? Would it use the same wire and sensor?
