I have a 2002 Avalanche needing a seat memory module. The part is discontinued and I am unable to locate one at an auto salvage yard. Do you know if it is possible to bypass the module?

bypassing things on modern cars is usually a disaster so I wouldn't do that. I can't imagine not being able to find a used one though. There are literally thousands of avalanches sitting in wrecking yards all over North America. Maybe not right in your neighborhood or town, but I guarantee they're out there. Go online, make some phone calls, and have one shipped to you from wherever you can find it. It's a small part. Shipping is no big deal. I'm pretty sure the aftermarket can help you too. Check your local parts store. Just because GM has discontinued it doesn't mean everyone has. Keep searching.
