Check the connection to the starter for corrosion. If the connection at the starter is good and clean you possibly have a bad starter. Get the starter tested.

Do not spend that much time on this as said above if all connections are clean Just go buy a new starter your solenoid is no good . And if spent time after time trying to start and doesnt ( may turn once in a blue moon ) its a paper weight thats it.

I replace the starter. And it's doing exactly what the old starter did. When you turn the key it just clicks one time. I even hooked up jumper cables and it does the same thing clicks one time. I checked all my connections cleaned all the wires rather they needed it or not. Still it just clicks one time when you turn the key

Take the tow relay out and swap it with the PCM relay. If it starts then the PCM relay was bad. I had a turn signal relay go bad, took me two months to track it to the relay.

If it has been raining you may have a short in the fuse box located in cabin, driver's side. Water can accumulate in the bottom of the case and cause corrosion/shorting. Had a similar problem with '98 F150....starter would engage intermittently without key AND while engine was running!

Was this resolved I’m having a similar issue was getting power on dash radio headlights and chimes but when tried to start I’d get a click all power shut off but If I turn to off power would be back so we replaced the starter and I still have the same problem just a click then cuts power off turn off power returns

I just went through this myself changed the starter, solenoid, key switch, and it ended up being a relay switch for the Security
