Ford 1994 4.9 liter engine with various symptoms.

Asked by Guru8K6JH Jan 04, 2020 at 05:36 PM about the 1994 Ford F-150 XL LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck starts and runs well when cold. After driving, if you let the truck idle, it will
start missing on 1 cylinder, then 2 and eventually it will quit.  If you let the truck
get cold again, it will start and run fine?

I have not checked the fuel pressure but hear the fuel pump cycle and click off under the hood. I get a random check engine light that cycles on and off. The truck was getting hot, I replaced the radiator, hoses, thermostat and water pump. did a back flush through the heater core. Cooling system seems to be working well even though there feels like too much heat sometimes building up under the hood.
