I think your engine is a 4.9L inline six? If that is correct you will most likely need to swap the motor out. I would recommend a small block Windsor 5.8L 351, bore 30 over and stroke it to 400+ cubic inches, Twin turbos and a custom tuned PCM + all the wiring needed. Exhaust work will be needed. If that radical, "you will also need to reinforce the frame, swap the transmission and rear end differential." That will give you the high velocity that your looking for. Other then that, those model fords are not meant for speed. If it is the body style you like? Then, "I would recommend purchasing a Ford Lightning of that year. That will come stock with 5.8L 351 GT40 heads-intake, 4:10 ratio gears in the rear, "cheaper to go that route as a base starter to your high velocity needs."

Teaching driving tactics at a police academy we had SUVs and pickups rigged with outrigger wheels so recruits to show themselves exactly how easily it is to roll one of those beauties over at city street speed..Mythbuster's has an episode on how to gain maximum velocity going straight using rockets on the roof if that is all you want to do. If you want to maneuver a little while at a speed over 40, maybe a different vehicle is what you are looking for.
