Shifter Loose

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Mechanism loose in streering column. Cable tight and shift lever works good. Not going into park and junps out of high gear if you croud it.

Changed shift tube and tightened adjustment for shift lever. Took neutral safety switch off transmission. Cleaned contacts. Took plug apart one wire at a time and cleaned. Put everything back on the sealed around wires with silicone and tape. Everything works right again.
