1994 F-150 Crank no start

Asked by Guru58W5W Feb 03, 2018 at 03:21 PM about the 1994 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD Extended Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1994 F-150 5.0 Liter V8- will crank but not start.
All spark plugs are sparking with test light.
Fuel is getting to the rails, and fuel pressure is correct based on the manual
and a gauge.
Engine will run when starter fluid is sprayed in but only as long as the fluid
lasts.
Injectors were tested for power, each one shows steady light with key in off
position on one of the wires, shows steady on other with test light when key in
off, but no pulse when trying to start.
Tested the EEC relay with a multimeter and the wires show 12v when they're
supposed to.
I'm out of ideas, anyone got any?

Give it a shot of starting fluid ,at lease it eliminates fuel, timeing chain

Starting fluid will get it running for as long as the fluid lasts. After that, nothing.

You have to know fuel pressure, fuel regulator? It definitely a fuel problem, find out exactly what pressure is and go from there, fuel regulator might cause this, cheap and fast replacement, hope this helps

If you have 35 lbs that's good, you have spark,it runs with starting fluid ,the only thing left for fuel delivery to cylinders is throttle injectiors, either Paulse signal to injectors connections of wires,or plugged injectors,if you have fuel to injectors that's about all it can be.

The grounds on drivers side on radiator support. Google search exactly how many grounds and where at for your year and I would slso check where you engine harness bolts together right by underhood fuse box for moisture. Ford's and there grounds
