hello rookie!! I have the same make / model. First of all. how do you know the gas pump was bad?? Secondly, have you checked any of your relay/ fuses?? this is the easiest way to trouble shoot things. And the gas pumps are A LOT more expensive. your light is coming on might have something to do with a fuse or relay. Replace them ( and the fuses and relays are the same ones on a Rangers ( in case you cannot find a F150 in the junk yard. I might even take em off a Crown Vic, too). Your 20 A fuse for the pump is in front of the series circuit relay ( black box). good luck
Front pump went out....checked all the relays as well as fuses everything checked out ok.put new pump in started right up..then this happened....truck started up fine this morning drive to work got ready to leave an same thing happened it wouldn't star...switched tabks drove home....switched tanks again an the pump was making a howling noise....
O by the way Truck runs great when im using the back tank...its the front tank giving my the issues
