Why won't my 1994 Ford F-150 start?

Asked by SkylerC Jul 29, 2015 at 06:32 PM about the 1994 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My pickup will start one day, but it will be a
real slow, hard start. But the next day or
even a few hours later it won't start, when I
turn the key the dash lights won't even come
on. My passenger side door lock and
window buttons won't work either. And when
they are pressed, my driver side buttons
won't work either. I replaced the battery. I
had the alternator tested but just to see if it
will charge and it charges fine. Other than
that I don't know what to do. If anyone has
an idea please let me know. Thank you

Check the wire connections at the starter solinold and the starter making sure they are tight.

You could also have a problem with the ignition lock cylinder or the switch located within the column. Don't go throwing parts at it though. Check the net. There is a way to jump start the vehicle from within the column. You will have to disassemble it though to check.

It's the round thing the steering wheel is attached to. It disappears into the dashboard. The shift lever, if on the column, is attached to it along with the turn signals.
