Skipping driving on road

Asked by Johndoan1956 Apr 15, 2019 at 10:48 AM about the 1993 Ford F-150 XL 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1993 f150 started out skipping
driving on the road mainly when I would
come to a upgrade on the road.  I
changed the plugs, plug wires,
distributor cap, rotary button, fuel filter,
throttle sensor, coil pack, and it seemed
to help some, but yesterday it got really
bad.  It seemed as the motor was
shutting completely off then firing back
up.  When I got home the truck will Ron
for just a few minutes then shut down. It
will fire right back up and then shut
down again after just a minute

I started my truck this morning and left it running for about an hour. It runs like it should no problem. I was wondering if the fuel pump relay could be getting hot and breaking down
