eletrical problem

I have a 1992 f-150 the problem I have is when the engine is running
and I trun on the head light engine truns off if I take out the bulbs
the engine will not start what do I do

Look in the engine compartment for someones wizardry of wire splicing - usually will be accompanied by a mass of electrical tape covering it all. May Be around ignition coil or at the firewall. When you find the mass of tape - remove tape and post all wire colors you see and we can figure it out from there ...
