2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, Starts up, turn off, then won't start

Here is what happened.
One morning, I started my truck, let it warm up, put it into gear "D" and then
the truck died.  I tried to start it back up, but it wouldn't start.  It would turn
over, but wouldn't start.  I tried to start it a few times, but no luck.  
Later that afternoon, my wife was able to start it up and drive it around.
A few days later, in the morning, I tried to start it and it started right up.  Then
I turned it off and tried to re-start it.  NOPE!!!  Wouldn't start.  Again, it would
turn over, but wouldn't start.
Any ideas?

PART 2- Today I came home after work, tried to start the truck.... started right up!!! I let it run for about a minute, then shut it off. Waited a few seconds and then tried to start her up again... NOPE!!! Wouldn’t start. She would turn over but wouldn’t fire up. Anybody got any clues or ideas?
