I found 2 small aluminium pieces in my transmission oil pan. What can it be? or is it normal?

Question type: General

When I was changing my transmission oil pan I found two aluminium pieces in the bottom of the pan. The mechanicer had never seen this before. So I am asking can it be from my transmission or is it normal? Everything works normally. The size is 3,5mm x 2,8mm.
I hope I get some answers from you.
Yours sincerely,
Herdís from Iceland

If the transmission is still operating properly I wouldn't worry about it.

That looks like one of the bits of metal used in the gasket to keep it from over-compressing when tightened.
