Engine cranks but won't start

Asked by ccapp Mar 30, 2017 at 05:50 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Impala FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The fuel pump was ruled out as the problem so 2 mechanics have
attempted to repair this issue by replacing a camshaft position sensor. Then
the fuel filter was changed. Battery was charged. Still not turning over. They
thought it might be the chip in the key however that year does not have a
chip key. Now they are saying it is a computer issue. If it is a computer issue
what would be the cost? Is it worth it to fix a computer on a 2003 car? Any
ideas on if it could be some other issue?

Duh ,,,Did they check the anti-theft ... If 2 mechanics can't determine your problem (not fix but tell you the problem ,, I would get me and have my car towed out) If your anti theft is not working then you will see a "security" message blinking

Did they scan the vehicles for the trouble codes? Did they try and re-set the security system? I think you best find someone who knows what they are doing.
