The governor is programmed into the computer. You would have to have it re-programmed.

OK, no way to just reset or remove any sensors in the system? I hate going to dealership's for repairs or anything, they charge too much.

You could send it out to someone to reprogram it, I doubt the dealership would change any original settings anyway. And I would guess it would cost anywhere from $200 to $400, just guessing.

That's what I thought too, I was hoping to be able to remove a speed sensor or maybe short out the same, maybe I can get a used computer at junk yard, mine was former delivery vehicle and is set at 62 mph, so highway trips are pretty slow.

LoL...I see, Find one around the same year, and it would have to be out of a automatic or a standard, which ever one you have.

Gm tech 2 tool. just plug into DLC bus and scroll through and uncheck speed limiter. About 6 minutes to complete. No need to remove anything. IF you into GMs no reason not to have this tool not much money. There old! Regards

OK, I'm into GM stuff, but don't have that tool, I've never had a need to do any computer calibration or adjustments. But thanks for the info , I will try that first.
