wont crank

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 F250 7.3 SD that keeps blowing the #61 starter fuse. Engine will not turn over until the fuse is replaced, engine will start but blows the fuse again. I have disconnected the glow plugs at the relay with no change, starts once and blows the fuse. any ideas?

Thanks

Richard

Checked the resistance across the starter solenoid coil on the starter to ground and found it to be .3 to ..4 ohms to ground replaced the solenoid and have not blown a fuse in nearly 4 weeks now. :-)
