Transmission

Asked by SofaKing77 Jul 27, 2019 at 05:21 PM about the 2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT 4WD Crew Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Ford f250 4x4 diesel transmission gauge
is reading half way to hot from start up on. Does
anyone know why?

1 Answer

Dirty transmission cooler, slipping trans, high outside temperatures, heavy loads, slow driving etc. I would change the ATF and install a high capacity transmission oil pan and maybe upgrade the cooler.
