Astro 2003 cap and rotor

Asked by Scott May 18, 2016 at 09:17 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Astro Extended RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I want to replace my cap and rotor on my 2003 astro.  The videos I see show
them pulling out the whole shaft on the distributor and going through a lot of
trouble to set the engine at top dead center.  instead of going through that
trouble can you just take the two small bolts out of the rotor and replace it
without all that extra work?

Yes just remove the to small bolts from cap and remove no need to remove distributor to replace cap.

use paint marker for the plug wires in a way they go to the correct cap terminals
