After driving 50 miles or so I parked my 04 Chevrolet trailblaser. When I got in it to drive home I went to shift it in reverse the the button on the shifter wouldn't depress and the break pedal went to the floor. I let it sit overnight and got in it the next morning it was fine. I was able to drive it fine. The other day it did the same thing. Any ideas's?

brake pedal went to the floor???? that;s odd. the button not going in may be a fault in the shift interlock system. either a binding cable or bad sensor in the shift tower. needs to see that the brake pedal is depressed and the key is in to let the truck shift out of park into gear.
