My heater core is going out on my 2004 trailblazer how can I get it too use less coolant until I fix it

Please don't use any fix in a can products. They might stop the leak for now but will end up costing you more in repairs later. If you in the south and don't really need heat you can un hook heater core hoses from motor and connect a by pass hose between the two hose connections on the motor. Now doing this will not allow you to have any heat inside your truck. And if you live in a colder climate you will be better off to just replace the heater core.
