i have a 1997 c 280 and since i had the battery off to recharge the car runs very badly and wont rev very high at all and my abs light on the dash wont go out any ideas please

Was the car working properly before you sent the battery off for charging? You may have reconnected the battery in the incorrect sequence and damaged the ecu or some sensors. Always connect the positive terminal first then the negative, any other way can cause a short which is a death sentence for these modern cars with all their on board computers and sensors. I would check for blown fuses
