Just got a new key cut for my 2004 Chevy Malibu cut from the vin number and the key won't turn in the ignition?

Try a little graphite spray in the lock cylinder (you can find this in any auto parts store, walmart, etc.) If it won't work take it back to where you got it cut, they might need to do a little impressioning to mate the key to the lock. (Impressioning is test fitting the key to the lock, seeing where it rubs, and hand filing it to fit). Unfortunately your old key and lock cylinder wore together, now you have a brand new key but an older worn cylinder.
