Car shaking

Asked by SeanClay Jul 12, 2016 at 09:49 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2004 Chevrolet Malibu LS is shaking. Shaking is
most evident above 50mph. Brakes are good, just
put on a new control arm, new tires and the tires
have been balanced 3 times to rule out that. I don't
feel the shaking in steering wheel.

Is there a reason for the new control arm? Was there damage to it/car? If that is the case, you may have a damaged CV joint too. Or even just a worn CV joint.

The ball joint was bad so I had to get the control arm replaced. I Haven't heard any clicking when turning so I don't think it's the CV joint, but I'll check that too
