Help!

I recently bought an '04 Malibu.Just a few days
ago it started acting up.I would drive and then out
of nowhere i would press the gas pedal and the
rpms would go high,but the car would be going
about 10 mph.I've asked around and haven't
gotten a clear answer on what could be
wrong.Help me please!
